This Mugs give to us some advantages, good reviews already proving the quality of this product, like this :
1. Nice, but...
The mug is nice, but... the handles are painful! When the mugs were molded, the seam that runs down both the inside, and the outside of the handle, protrudes and is painful to hold. I suspect these were sold as 'seconds', not of the best quality, but still usable.

Eventually, I learned to grab the handle in a manner that avoided the protrusion. Perhaps a bit of grinding would remove it?

The mug is heavy, nice, holds 16 ounces, and is very attractive.

Do I like them? Yes.
Will I keep them? Yes.
Would I buy them again? No.

2. Clearing a few things up.
I wanted to write this review because when I wanted to buy a glass mug set, I read the reviews for this product, and was on the fence.

First, I think these cups aren't exactly beautiful, but they aren't hideous. I'd give them a good rating on looks if I were looking for another unremarkable mug, so I took off half a star here, because, let's be honest, if I were to break them all, I wouldn't worry about replacing something like this because of their generic look, nothing fancy, nothing attractive, just plain glass.

The other half star came off with a similar problem as other people, the ridge of doom. First, I would REALLY like to point out that the ridge of doom (now shortened to ROD) really isn't that bad, but seeing everyone else's reviews, I would think that I would lose a finger by cutting it or losing circulation to the ROD. However, it's really not that bad. I take off 1/2 a star, now making it a 4 star rating, because the ridge is rather ugly, but not...

Low quality. Inappropriate for hot drinks.
Although advertised as a "cafe" mug and thus implying suitability for hot drinks such as coffee, some of ours have in fact cracked severely at the bottom when adding hot or cold to the cup. Others have chipped at the lip leaving very sharp jagged areas, seemingly for no reason. We hand wash everything and have always been very careful. These symptoms tell me there are internal stresses in the glass that have not been addressed by proper tempering during manufacturing - a step that takes time, and it seems that this crucial step has been skipped or shortened in order to cut corners and increase profits. Also, as another reviewer mentioned, the seam is definitely very noticeable and sharp. I also had to learn to hold them a 'special' way in order to enjoy my drinks, and this was very annoying.
Although I grew up with Anchor Hocking and have long trusted the name, we won't be handing over any more money to the company after this disappointing experience.
